I’ve been hard at work and I finally got the last boost of energy I needed to finish up this kid’s party invite set. Now that it’s all done, I wanted to show where my inspiration came from. I really like looking at the design process behind others’ creativity, so I thought I’d show you mine. I bought these two little outfits for my son a little bit before Christmas from Carter’s, which I love. They’re fun and modern and the color combination is one I’ve always loved.
I adore seeing him in them and so I started sketching up some ideas and came up with a little dinosaur that I thought was rather cute and ended up designing a whole party theme around it. I’ve had kid’s party themes in my head for a while now because John Patrick will soon be turning 1 and I’m very excited about his invitations naturally. I’m actually very happy with this set and if I can get plates made up I might just make it a letterpress invitation. I think it lends itself to be quite beautiful as a letterpressed invite, we’ll see.
I also decided to take the plunge and make this my first digital invitation offering on Etsy, so check it out here if you’d like.
I really like these but I suppose it’s for the same reason I really like the outfits. The colors and patterns are great and it’s clean and simple, just the way I like everything. So what do you think? Where do you find inspiration?
